Grinded mulch is a product made up of logs, root balls, and other tree and palm material that goes through a large horizontal grinder, where this material is processed and turned into Grinded Mulch.
How Grinded Mulch Differsfrom Aged Forest Mulch
This product is quite different from our Aged Forest Mulch which goes through a wood chipper with sharp knives to create fairly uniform small chips. In contrast, grinded mulch produces a wider range of material sizes, from 30cm ruler-sized pieces down to very fine dust-like particles, and everything in between.
The Benefits of Grinded Mulch for Landscaping Projects
The variety in sizes helps to make grinded mulch more stable when mulching steep embankments. With larger pieces included, it’s better able to withstand water erosion that can occur during heavy rain events. For this reason, many Councils require grinded mulch for landscaping projects involving embankments.
Our Two Types of Grinded Mulch Available
We’re the only company in Brisbane that offers two distinct types of grinded mulch: Hardwood Grinded Mulch and Combination Grinded Mulch.
- Hardwood Grinded Mulch: Made up mostly of Australian Eucalypt species with no foliage material mixed in, this product will outlast any other organic mulch on the market.
- Combination Grinded Mulch: This product includes a mix of hardwood logs, softwood logs, grinded palm, leafy green waste, and some topsoil fines. While it contributes more to soil and plant health, it tends to break down faster than our 100% Hardwood mulch.
